I am back home from Ellensburg... and I miss Tyler! I will update about the weekend later. I am tired tonight....

Going to Tyler's House for the Weekend

Tyler is driving home today. . . so, I am going to drive there too. It is a long weekend and he has both Monday and Tuesday off. I feel bad that he has to drive like 10 hours today, but I am so excited to see him and his family. Hopefully Amie will share her "My Tyler" with me. I will do my best to share with her :) This weekend I am not sure what our plans are, but I am sure it will be wonderful no matter what. Today Tyler will be driving all day, later tonight I will drive up to his house so I can see him as soon as he gets there. Then tomorrow I am not sure our plan for the day, but we are going to go to dinner here in Olympia with my parents, brother and my mom's parents. It will be good, but Ty has not met them yet, so he may be a little nervous. I hope things go well and my Opa (grandpa) does not scare Tyler away. haha. Then Sunday I think we will go to church together with his parents. I have no idea our plans for Monday. He will leave Tuesday morning to head back to Rexburg for classes on wednesday morning. I will update the blog once things actually happen this weekend :)

Anthony's Tennis

Anthony was playing to go to state today. He won a match on Tuesday and lost a match on Tuesday, so he needed to win his tennis match today. He played his first match and it was very intense. They split sets and then he pulled it out in the third set. He was finished with his match and happy. However, he knew if he had won it, but would play against his teammate . They would be playing to go on in the tournament and be either 4th or 6th going to state and the loser would be playing to be 8th or alternate. Anthony really wanted to win. He and his teammate played and Anthony won. During the match it was tense. Everyone yelled, "Go Capital" "Go Cougars" "Nice Point" "Good Job Boys" and " Nice Work Capital". No one wanted to favor either one of them. Anthony's teammate did not have any family or friends there and my parents and I, plus Anthony's friends who were on the tennis team or playing in the tournament were all there for Anthony. We cheered for Anthony, but also encouraged the other boy. I felt bad, because Anthony really beat him. But I still cheered on my baby brother. I can't help it. He is my brother and I wanted him to win. I was biased..... oh well. Good Job Anthony! :)

Invitations

Yesterday we started working on the invitations for the wedding. My mom and I did not know we had to put them together, but found out very fast that we did. We worked on them for about 2 hours. I was the offical "bow tier" haha. It was fun though. Then Anthony came to help work on them. He was so funny. It was good mother, son, sister bonding time. We just needed my dad. But he was working on work stuff on the computer about 2 feet away, so he was there and talking with us, but wasn't helping. Its okay :) It was a good day and I love the invitations!

Swimming!

We went swimming at the Super 8 Motel when my mom and I stayed there. It was fun, but the pool was pretty cold.

Treasure Hunt

We went on a treasure hunt for one of our dates while I was in Rexburg. We had to dig up the treasure, had a map and everything. He and his roommate thought of it. Very cute. I had a ton of fun! :)

Surprising My Love

I surprised Tyler and came a day early. He thought I was going to come to Rexburg on Tuesday afternoon. Instead I got there Monday night at about 7:10pm. He was getting ready to go to FHE and I was trying to get to him before he left. I was texting him trying to find out any and all information I could about his FHE just in case I did not make it in time. I knew I would not make it before 7pm, so I text our friends Nick and Jen Hale. They were willing to help. Nick went over and distracted Ty until my mom and I could get there. I ran to his door, knocked on it, and everyone in the room yelled "Come in!" I came in and Tyler was shocked! He was sitting on the couch and did not get up for a few moments. Then he came over to me and hugged me. He did not want to let go and neither did I. It was a very special moment. We both had missed one another like crazy! Then we went to his FHE together. I love being with him and I was glad that I could surprise him and make him so happy! He made a silly face.... oh well. I made a silly face in the other one. haha.

Happy Couple

My Parents were tired from the long day and decided to take a nap before we all went to dinner. This is how they fell asleep. I thought it was really cute so I took a picture! :) I love my parents!

Tennis Meeting

I went to the meeting with my parents for the tennis coordinators. A guy came over to our table (he was a corrdinator from Oregon or something) and looked at us and decided to take a picture, so I asked him to take one with my camera too.

Roloff Family

Have you ever seen "Little People, Big World" on TLC? It is a tv show that has two dwarf parents raising a family with one dwarf son and three standard height children. They have a big farm and live in Oregon. Well, today around 12:20 in the afternoon, my parents and I went outside to find a good place for lunch... we started walking up the street and then I was said, " Oh my gosh, that is so funny. I just saw them on TV." My parents were really confused at first and then I told them that those people and I kinda did a head point in their direction, are on TLC's "Little People, Big World." They are the Roloff family. They were just stopping at the bagel shop to get some lunch and had a camera crew following them. I went over with my Dad and I had my camera with me, because we are on vacation and I always have it, so we went over and I asked if I could take a picture with them. They were super nice and friendly and said yes of course. We took the picture and then we told them to have a good day and they told us to enjoy our stay here in Oregon. It was fun to meet them.

Drive to Oregon

Luckily the drive to Oregon was better than the actual weekend has been. I love to spend time with my parents and it is funny sharing a small room. But the drive was good. It was about a three hour drive from our house and we did not end up leaving our house until like 6:30pm.

For the first hour and a half I drove with my Mom. We talked, listened to music and just hung out. It was a lot of fun. I love to have time alone with my Mom when we can talk, be girls and just be chill.

The second half I have with my Dad. My Dad and I always laugh when we are together. I love to hang out with him. We have always been able to hang out and do whatever and I have fun... most of the time anyway. Replacing light bulbs is something we have done and it was not as much fun as I had hoped for, but we still ended up laughing, so it turned out ok. My Mom says I have always been a Daddy's Girl.

I don't know if it is true, because I love to be with them both, all three of us together (or 4 with my brother) or just one on one. I am so glad that I am close with my parents. This weekend has taken us to a new level of closeness... us being in the same bed and all. haha! But it has been interesting, fun, silly, a learning experience and lots of other things. :) I really do love everything about my parents and appreciate all that they do for me. I have been very blessed to have such amazing parents and even a wonderful little brother. We have always been a close knit family and it is great! I would not want it any other way. I never really understand when people say that they "Hate" their parents or they wish they were in a different family. Sure, I have been upset with my parents, but never "hated" them. Hate is a very strong word and I have never wanted to be in a different family. I love the one I have and I am excited to become a part of the McGee Family in August. They are awesome and I am happy and honored to become a part of it. I got very lucky with how wonderful they are, Tyler is and that I am so close with my own immediate family.

Weekend in Hood River

Today I am in Oregon with my parents. We are going to be here for the whole weekend. I say WHOLE weekend because so far it has not been too enjoyable. The Tennis Association is paying for the hotel room because my Dad is tennis coordinator during the summer. It pays hardly anything, but he has a lot of fun with it and often times plays in the league himself. Anyway, this time Shelia (the head of the organization) decided to stay at a little bed and breakfast place in Hood River, Oregon. Because it is a bed and breakfast, it is not very big and the rooms are very small. Shelia did not know I was coming with my parents this time, but she normally gives my parents a regular room with a bed and a pull out couch or a room with two beds just in case we come. However, this time. My Mom, Dad and I are all staying in a very small room together. One bed, small bathroom, and tiny mirror and sink. haha. Anyway, last night we all slept in the little bed. My mom slept in the middle, I slept on the edge of one side and my dad on the other edge. It was not a good night's sleep. We were all tossing and turning all night. Luckily we are only staying here Friday night and Saturday night. But still, not a good sleep. Hopfeully tonight will be better. We tried to ask to see if there is a room with 2 beds or a couch or something, but they are completely booked for the weekend and there is not much around here, so we are going to deal with it for another night. It is just really ridiculous and funny.... yet not funny at all. haha.

Engagement Memories....

THE DAY WE GOT Engaged

Tyler took me to the sand dunes, and that is where we met for the first time and he asked me if I remembered what happened there, I of course said yes and we talked about how he and I remember that we met. This is what I remember....He and I and a bunch of people from our ward all went to the ice caves, I was afraid to go all the way in, so I turned around and came back out. He went all the way through and then we went to the sand dunes to warm up from being around and on the ice. That is when I officially remember meeting him. He says we met at te ice caves and I vaguely remember talking to someone who said they were from Spokane, but not a lot. We talked around the fire once we got to the sand dunes, I thought he was really cute, sweet and nice. He then asked me to go on a 4-wheeler ride and at first I hesitated because I was not sure how I felt about going with a guy I did not know too well. But I said yes and then we went. We went up a huge hill and the 4 wheeler got stuck. I helped him to get it un-stuck and then we went back around the fire with everyone. He was embarrassed and I was embarrassed for him. A little later he came back over by me and asked if I wanted to try again, so we could make up for the last ride. I said yes and we rode around and it was wonderful. We did not get stuck, but we went fast and I held onto him tight. :) We talked the rest of the time we were at the sand dunes and around the fire and as we all were ready to leave he asked for my phone number and he called me the next day to make plans. It was a great first time meeting.

Next we got back in his car and we went to the Gardens on campus and he said do you remember what happened here? I said yes, it was our first official date. I remember we walked up there and we were talking and hanging out and then we found a little area that had a small table and some chairs around it. We sat in the chairs and talked. Then he pulled out his i-phone and we danced in the gardens to the music. We also kissed that night in the gardens. Well, now we were once again in the gardens and after we had remembered the wonderful time we had together, he asked if I was hungry and I said yes. The night before I had made some bagel sandwiches because I told him I wanted to go on a picnic with him and he had bought some propel, flavored water drinks and so we sat in the gardens where we had danced for our first official date and ate bagel sandwiches and drank Propel that he had bought the night before.

Then we went to Idaho Falls, Idaho, which is about 30 minutes from Rexburg. We went to a park kinda by the temple, well you can see the Idaho Falls Temple from it, but it is not really that close. At the park, there was an actual falls and it was so pretty. It was a beautiful day outside. We walked around for a while and talked and just enjoyed each other's company. Then we went down into a little cove area closer to the water and he said remember when we came here? I said no, and I felt bad because I did not remember. I was really confused and then he said you will. I was like... what?! and then proposed. He said my full name. Brittany Meier Litchfield, got down on one knee and then proposed by saying, "Will you Marry Me?" to me and I said yes! He put on the ring and my hand was shaking. I could not stop smiling and neither could he. After he put on the ring, I looked up at him smiling and laughing a little and I said, "My hand won't stop shaking." We both laughed :) We hugged and kissed because we were both so happy. Then we walked back up to his car and started making phone calls and sending text messages :)

We both called our Mom's first and then our Dads. Then he called all his siblings. I then sent out a mass text to everyone in my phone book that would want to know about the engagement, so they could know the wonderful news. He sent out some text messages too. I then asked my mom to send an e-mail to everyone in the family, and anyone else she wanted, announcing the news. She also sent a picture of me smiling showing the ring in the e-mail. Tyler had taken the picture on his phone right after it happened. We are so happy and excited to plan our wedding and then to start our lives together in August :)

Olympia, Washington

Today is a typical Olympia day. It is overcast, sprinkling a little and the wind is blowing. Most people would not like today, but for some reason, I love it! It is home and I am used to it. :)

My Sweet Fiance

Tyler surprised me today and got my flowers! He told my mom where he got them from and she offered to go pick them up. He told her when they would be ready. She left them on our doorstep, rang the door bell and ran away. The dogs went crazy and ran to the front door. I followed them. I found the flowers there with a cute card that said, "Brittany" on the envelope and inside it said, "Love Tyler." He is so sweet and wonderful. I don't know how he does it, but I love him more and more every day! :) Here is a picture of the flowers, they are my favorite...sun flowers! He not only sent me flowers, but they are my favorite flowers too! :)
