Surprising Tyler.... Again :)

Okay, so I love surprises and I love to surprise people. So, I flu to see Tyler at school. I got in on Monday night. I made a deal with Chelsea, one of my best friends, that I would spend Monday night with her, because last time I visited I spent almost all of my time with Tyler. She understood, but I decided to give her some Brittany and Chelsea time like the good old days. So we spent Monday night together. A few times I tried to sneak away and go see Tyler, but she always caught me. I did not see Tyler Monday. When Tuesday came, I was DYING to see him. I knew his class schedule and I timed it so I would be able to walk over to his apartment, knock on the door and surprise him that way, with my friend recording it. . . hoping to have a fun memory for later in life.

The plan did not go as we had hoped. I was walking over to my friend Jen's house, who is the manager or Tyler's apartments about 10 or 15 minutes before he was supposed to get out of class. Unforunately as I was walking over there I saw his car. He had gotten out of class EARLY today. I ducked behind another building and he did not see me. I waited for him to go into his apartment before I tried once again to get to Nick and Jen's house. I got over to the parking lot and we were heading to her door, when Tyler walks out of his apartment with a big cup in his hand. He was heading to Horkley's. Dang it! I did not want him to see me, but I had a feeling he did. We hurried into Jen's house, but I knew I was caught. He texted me, which I tried to play off, even though I knew I was caught. I was so bummed! I had been planning this for 2 months! Jen headed over to Tyler's apartment with some manager excuse with my camera in hand. I followed ducking behind things as we got closer. Once again Tyler was suspicious and came outside to check things out. I went behind a truck, but I KNEW he knew it was me this time. Oh well. I kept up the act. Jen and Tyler went inside. The door was still open and Jen motioned for me to come in because Tyler had gone upstairs. I hid in their laundry room and he came back downstairs and said he was leaving to go to IF. CRAP. He is not going there. I know FOR SURE. He knows and because I messed with him, he is messing with me.

I came out of the laundry room and Jen and I knew we were caught. I knew he was not going to IF, so I just waited for him to come back. A moment later, he busted through the door and yelled, " I KNEW IT!" The rest is on the video, enjoy :)

Saturday for Tyler

Tyler floated the river on Saturday with his ward. Yes, he is still in Idaho and I am still in Washington. It is hard to be apart, but it makes us have to communicate really well and we are learning good techniques for in the future if we ever have to be apart. Anyways.....

Ty floated the river and said it was a blast! I have been wanting to float the river here, but it has not been working out. I am glad he can go and do fun things there. He deserves to have fun, even when I am not there with him :) However, he did get sun burnt while he was out there. It is not too bad and he said it does not hurt, so hopfeully it turns into a tan. If I had been there, I probably would have helped him put sun screen on :)

Lakefair Parade

My Dad was an announcer today at the parade. I helped him stay organized, especially when the parade order was all messed up. My mom was there too. It was fun to do the parade again. My Dad and I have been helping with the Lakefair parade in some form for as long as I can remember. I love to be with my Dad. I am a Daddy's girl. It was a good day :)Corvette Club

Crazy Weather Today

This morning around 10am I was planning to go and float a river with a girlfriend. We were super excited, it was sunny and all was wonderful. Except... we went outside and it was NOT warm at all. It was kinda cold. So... we decided to try to wait it out for a while. By noon it was not again and really nice. She had some things she needed to get done and so did I, so we decided that instead of worrying about going to the river, we would go to her lake house. We planned to meet there at 2pm. I got in my car around 1:45pm to head to the lake. It was hot, goregous and I was really excited to get some sunshine. BUT... by the time I got to the lake the weather had changed. It was windy, cold and the sun was hiding behind the clouds. Julie and I layed out anyway for about an hour and a half on the dock (it was not warm enough to be in the water). When we dicided it was too cold and too windy, we got back in the car and drove out to my house. The weather was even worse here. We hoped it would be better but oh well.... Later tonight it was really warm and beautiful. No sunshine, but the perfect summer night. Now... as I look out my window... its raining. Weird weather, but it is home :)

Dentist

I went to the dentist this week. No cavities! Yay! I have not had one since I was little. I have been really lucky. The last time I got a cavity filled was when I think I was 7 years old. I was so against getting a shot, that the dentist filled it without the numbing. It hurt like crazy, but I did not want the shot. Luckily the cavity was small. . . if it had been a big one, I would have been in much more main. I guess I am just stubborn sometimes.

Tyler to Utah

Tyler was visiting his sister and her family in Utah for the 4th of July weekend and drove to my grandparents house the day before the 4th to see me. A lot of my family was still there because the reunion had just finished, so he got to meet a lot of them. They all LOVED him! Hopefully he loved them too. We went bowling, out to dinner, to a Luau and hung around. It was wonderful to see him! I am so glad he came. ALSO... and I am very proud of this one, I learned how to drive his car. I still need some practice, but at least I know how. :)

Friday June 26,2009

We finally gathered the family together. We got everyone on houseboats, motorboats and jet skis and everything was loaded and ready to go. We used those wheelbarrow looking carts to get everything loaded onto the boats. We were on our way to the spot where we would camp for the next week, but then a storm came and we had to slow all the boats, bring everything inside and try to prevent things from blowing away. A lifejakcet flew out of the houseboat before anyone could grab it, so we turned around to attempt to retrieve it. Caroline got it with a canoe paddle. We were lucky. The wind did not die down, and the canoe flipped up and knocked out a light on the houseboat. Caroline and I went out on the front to hold it, so it would not flip off or hurt anything else, or anyone else for that matter. The wind and rain stopped and things were under control, so we picked back up speed. The jouney seemed to be going well, but we know that never lasts long, the next thing we hear on the radio, is Katie, who is on the other houseboat and she says, "No one is driving the boat, Chris is in the sinking boat and we are heading towards the rocks!" We look ahead and see all the men who were riding on the other houseboat jumping into the motor boat that is full of water and trying to bail it out. It is barely above water, but they worked fast to bail it out. They were using buckets, pots and anything else they could find to bail out the water. It seemed to be working. Most of the water was bailed out and the men were all back on the houseboat, so we kept moving forward. We got to the camping spot safely.... well as safely as can be expected with this many people and toys. We are all heading to bed. The rest of the day was uneventful. It was a yummy dinner and a fun night with family.

P.S. There is a family tree that one of the kids made that comes to the reunion every year and it helps us to keep track of everyone, their kids and who gets married and all that good stuff. Well, this year, Tyler was on it. :)

Today was a great day! I got my t-shirt (we get one every year and it has all of our names on it and the number we joined the family.) I am #35, Anthony is 44, mom is 29 and my dad is 9. I went tubing today and I really enjoyed it. Good times with the family.

Today we ate breakfast and then held church on the top of the houseboat. My uncle got permission. we had sacrament, Nursery and everything! I was in charge or Nursery. There were only two kids, so it was easy enough. We had fun together. Zoe, one of the little girls saw a picture of me in my wedding dress on my camera and said, "Its a princess!" It was sooo sweet and I could not help but smile :)

I did not write any other days, but at least here is something to help me remember the trip. Pictures and video clips too :)
